The body of a man who fell off a dinghy at a lake north of Edmonton was found by searchers on Sunday afternoon.

According to Boyle RCMP, the search for the missing 31-year-old at Long Lake ended shortly after 3 p.m. when his body was located by an underwater recovery team.

The man and a youth were riding a dinghy when it capsized Saturday at about 2:45 p.m. A bystander was able to grab the youth out of the water, but the man went under the water and disappeared, police say.

A party made up of first responders, RCMP Air Services and dive team, as well as Alberta Fish and Wildlife and Alberta Parks, searched for the man as late as they could Saturday and then began again on Sunday morning.

Long Lake is located in Long Lake Provincial Park, about 110 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
