An 11-year-old boy with autism has been found dead in Lindsay, Ont. approximately 24 hours after being reported missing, police say.

The body of Draven Graham was found by an Ontario Provincial Police underwater search and recovery team in the Scugog River Monday around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Deb Hagarty of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service said in a video posted to Twitter.

"Everyone involved has a heavy heart at this time," Hagarty said.

Police say no foul play is suspected, but that their investigation is ongoing.

Draven was last seen around 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Rivera Park in Lindsay, Ont. About a half hour earlier, surveillance video captured the boy walking northbound on Caroline Street.

His clothing was recovered in the same area, police say.

"Draven is autistic and has limited verbal skills," police said Monday, calling on residents to search their properties. "He has a sensory irritation to touch. He does like to hide and is not likely to come out if called by name."

Officers from several jurisdictions and volunteer rescue crews searched Sunday and overnight, with the help of police dogs, boats, a drone and a helicopter.

Hundreds of community members turned out to help with the search. Many were strangers, said Pamela McLarnon, who came together in the hope of a happy outcome.

"With everything happening in the world, we need happiness," McLarnon said before Draven's body was found. "We just want to bring him home to the family."
