Body found during search for missing Outaouais kayaker
Police in western Quebec found a body Monday afternoon while searching for a kayaker who disappeared Saturday on Lac Sainte-Marie.
A man in his 30s was reported missing at around 6 p.m. Saturday after his spouse lost sight of him on the lake.
A Sûreté du Québec (SQ) command post was set up at the scene Sunday morning as crews searched on foot and in the water, police said.
An SQ spokesperson said the body was found around 12:30 p.m. Monday and the investigation continues. Police haven't identified the person they found.
Lac Sainte-Marie is approximately 80 kilometres north of downtown Ottawa.
