“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives ”Star“ ”Mikayla Matthews Talks Comparisons to Famous “Gossip Girl” Star: 'Manifesting a Meetup' (Exclusive)
'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' star talks with PEOPLE about getting compared to a famous 'Gossip Girl' actress
Mikayla Matthews is cool with being akin to a Queen Bee.
"I've gotten it before. So when I first started TikTok back in the beginning of 2020, I'd get it all the time. Even now when I meet people, they're like, 'Oh wow, you're Leighton [Meester],' or 'You look just like Blair,' she says, nodding to the actress' Gossip Girl character.
She's flattered by the comparison, adding, "I'm trying to manifest a meetup!"

Mikayla is eager for fans to get to know her for all her sides — devoted wife, mom and creator. She and her husband Jace share kids Tommie, 2, Haven, 4, and Beckham, 7.
"I feel like there are so many blessings that came from being a young mom," she said, noting she welcomed Beckham at 17.
"That's not to say it was easy, because it was the hardest time of my life. I got pregnant when I was 16 and had my son when I was 17. I was having to navigate a really critical time in your life when you're realizing what you want. It's right before you go to college, and you're like, 'What do I want to do with my life?' And then, I was just thrown into motherhood."
"It was rocky," she admits. "I feel like I backed out for the first year from being pregnant until I had my son. But there were so many blessings from it and I don't feel like I would change anything. I feel like I've learned more. There's more pros than cons."
"I got an early start, so I'm just ready to bust them out," she jokes. "I'm like, 'Give me six more.'"
While Jace was a little camera-shy this season, Mikayla hopes fans will get to know him soon enough.
"Me and my husband are very witty and playful with each other. I wish my husband would love to be on camera more because he's hilarious. I think he's the funniest person I know, but he's rarely on the show."
"So hopefully season two, he can... he's like a little onion. We just have to peel him back, and then he'll be calling people out," she jokes, adding, "He's going to cause all the drama."
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres on Friday, Sept. 6 on Hulu.
