Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office jail deputy arrested, accused of domestic violence

An off-duty Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office jail deputy was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of domestic violence.

The deputy was arrested on Saturday by the Maize Police Department. She has since bailed out of jail, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The deputy lives in Maize and the domestic violence involved her husband or ex-husband, SCSO spokesperson Lt. Nathan Gibbs said in a follow-up email. He was not able to confirm her marital status.

The detention deputy has been with the sheriff’s office since October 2023. She is currently suspended pending the outcome of a criminal case and an internal investigation, the release added.
