See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week
Logan Huebner saw varsity action for Escalon’s football team last season on defense but is now the team’s starting quarterback. In his first two games, he has shown he’s every bit a dual-threat weapon.
After a narrow loss in Week 1, Huebner led the Cougars to a bounce-back 25-9 victory over Golden Valley with three total touchdowns. In his second varsity start at quarterback this season, Huebner completed seven of 14 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 34 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.
The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Week 2 Football Player of the Week.
Huebner finished first, collecting 53% of the more than 16,400 votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Hughson’s Eli Wilbanks and Riverbank’s Gabriel Sandoval, who came in second and third, respectively.
