See which Stanislaus District football player fans crowned The Bee’s Player of the Week
Julius Padron does a little bit of everything for the Downey High football team.
He is a running back who can take a toss for 10-plus yards, catch the ball out of the backfield or return kicks and punts on special teams.
His latest all-around performance helped the Knights remain undefeated, sealing a 47-36 win over visiting Amador Valley in Week 4.
Padron rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries and caught seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. He also had 42 kick return yards. In total, he finished with 227 all-purpose yards.
The fans noticed his performance, voting him The Bee’s Football Week 4 Player of the Week.
Padron finished first, collecting 46% of the votes in the weekly poll. He finished ahead of Oakdale two-way player Wes Burford and Modesto running back Lucky Dam, who came in second and third, respectively.
