Get ready to say, “Hello, Newman!” Or at least, “Hello, Irv!” The Young and the Restless has a special delivery: one of the most memorable sitcom stars of the 1990s. Wayne Knight, best known for his role as postal service worker Newman on Seinfeld, will guest-star on the long-running CBS soap next month. Knight will play music promoter Irv West in two upcoming episodes of the daytime drama, and from the exclusive photos below, it looks as if his character gets along with the Y&R regulars better than he did with Jerry!

Knight’s Irv shows up in Genoa City to check out the local music scene, where he meets up with Y&R music makers Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Noah Newman (Robert Adamson), and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). The show’s writers definitely made good use of the Seinfeld alum, who also shares scenes with series regulars Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter), Sharon Case (Sharon McAvoy), and Daniel Hall (Scott Grainger). This guy was all over Genoa City — or at least all over the Y&R set.

Wayne Knight will guest-star on The Young and the Restless Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Sept. 21, on CBS.
