It's no secret that the British royal family carry excellent handbags, and that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, leads the pack when it comes to her timeless and on-trend taste in accessories. Even celebrities occasionally take a cue from Kate's closet. Case in point: earlier this week, Selena Gomez stepped out at her beauty brand Rare Beauty’s annual mental health summit carrying a handbag that's been a particular favorite of Kate's over the years, the Aspinal of London Midi Mayfair bag.

To pair with her sculptural cream cocktail dress by Matičevski (a brand also recently worn by her friend Taylor Swift in the singer's "Fortnight" music video) the Only Murders in the Building star selected the ivory croc-embossed version of the bag. She completed the look with pared back nude pumps and Tabayer jewelry.

“Our 3rd annual @rarebeauty Mental Health Summit has me leaving inspired by the next generation, filled with so much hope, and grateful to each of you for being on this meaningful journey with us,” Gomez wrote in a post on Instagram. “Mental health means so much to me and I’m honored we get to share this mission with the world together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to use their voice for good!”

Kate, meanwhile owns several version of the Mayfair bag, including a neutral croc iteration which Kate once wore to a mental health summit herself—the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in 2018. She also owns the same style in a gleaming black croc finish, which she's worn to event both in the UK and internationally, including on a 2020 visit to Yorkshire and during her 2022 trip to Denmark on behalf of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
