Selena Gomez Spreads Cheer With 3 Irresistibly Happy Looks
Selena Gomez took her job as host of WE Day seriously on Thursday, but her choice of outfits for the event had a sense of humor too. For the celebration of young people who work hard to make the world better, she wore three different looks that also did their part to spread joy.
On the red carpet at the Forum in Los Angeles, Gomez sported her version of business casual. The light blue checked off-the-shoulder top and matching flared pants from Brock Collection, paired with light blue Christian Louboutin heels, said she was ready to get down to business, but she also didn’t mind flashing just the tiniest bit of midriff while she was doing so.
The business at hand was hosting an event that included other performers such as Alicia Keys and Demi Lovato, as well as speakers and activists. The students in the audience all had to take one local and one global action to earn a ticket. Gomez rewarded their dedication with another outfit designed to make everyone smile: mom jeans by ReDone Denim and a black Sonia Rykiel shirt embroidered with bold red lips that seemed to be giving all her fans a big kiss hello.
“They are encouraging kids from even in your backyard to be doing something for your community, for your neighborhood, for your family, for your friends,” Gomez told E! News about why she was involved with WE Day. “And I love that they’re celebrating all these kids and how hard they’re working. … It’s beautiful.”
Her third look was the most cheerful of all: a WE shirt, the same jeans, and a sky-blue Jenny Packham jacket (from the designer’s fall 2017 RTW collection) decorated with sunshine, rainbows, hearts, and more.
One thing missing from all three looks was the short bob haircut that had everyone freaking earlier this week. It turns out that was just a wig. Bummer.
“I was trying on different stuff, and I posted a picture ’cause I liked the image,” she told Extra. “Evidently, people thought I cut my hair real short, but it’s still the same. … It’s a little chop.”
