Selena Gomez Surprises Fans With New Song "Feel Me" About a Relationship's End

"We were one in a million."

Surprise! Selena Gomez just dropped a new song, and it’s all about the bittersweet ending of a relationship.

“Feel Me” is a B-side single from Selena’s deeply personal new album Rare, and we are definitely feeling it. It’s all about moving on from a relationship but hoping your former love keeps thinking of you, even though you’re done. It’s a low-key, midtempo melodic bop that fits in perfectly with the rest of the songs on Rare, and from the yearning tone in Selena’s voice, she must completely understand every lyric.

The song, which is totally relatable for anyone who has gone through the final stages of a significant relationship, begins by establishing how good things were — and then addresses how they’ve changed post-breakup. “No one love you like I love you. Never cheat, never lie. Never put no one above you,” she sings. “Now you’re telling me you miss it and I’m still on your mind. We were one in a million and love is hard to find.”

But while Selena isn’t eager to get back together with her ex, she still wants them to keep her on their mind. “Every time your lips touch another, I want you to feel me,” she sings. “Every time you dance with somebody, I want you to feel me.” Selena wants her absence to be noticed, even as both parties begin the process of moving on. “Do your days get a little bit longer? Nights get a little bit colder? Heart beat a little bit louder?”

The song itself is one Selena has actually performed for fans before — back in the Revival era. "On the Revival Tour, I introduced a song that you guys haven’t stopped talking about since. Soo you asked and I listened 😘 Today, Feel Me is out online and vinyl everywhere," Selena wrote on Twitter.

Selena has alluded to a few other songs that didn’t make the Rare cut but will likely be released as one-off singles, including one called “Boyfriend.” If the rest of the unreleased tracks are anything like “Feel Me,” consider this our official plea for more, Selena!
