Ottawa Senators sign Colin White to 3-year contract, will play 1st game tonight

The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Colin White to a three-year entry-level contract, and he's expected to play his first game Monday night.

The Senators picked White, 20, in the first round (21st overall) in the 2015 NHL draft. He scored 16 goals and had 17 assists for a total of 33 points for Boston College this season.

He scored a goal and two assists in three games for Binghamton, the Senators' AHL affiliate, after signing an amateur tryout contract on March 26.

White helped lead the United States to a gold medal in the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he scored seven goals in seven games.

Details of the contract weren't disclosed in a Senators news release issued Sunday.
