Serena Williams’s Daughter Olympia Met Her Idol: Simone Biles

It was a total GOAT-fest at the Gold Over America Tour (we see what you did there, event organizers!). Tennis legend Serena Williams, along with her husband, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia attended the gymnastics spectacle, and the backstage meet-and-greet pics are too cute. Turns out Olympia (first name Alexis, after her dad) loves the same Olympian we all do: Simone Biles.

“I had to take S & Jr to see @simonebiles’ Gold Over America Tour. Packed house. Awesome night. Don’t miss it if they’re coming to your town. 🥇🥇🥇 And thank you Simone and @jordanchiles for absolutely making Olympia’s MONTH 🥞 I bought all the merch I could and even tried making this morning’s pancake look like Olympia in one of her new leotards - sorry babygirl, photorealism is hard 😆😆 and the batter was too runny today,” Ohanian wrote on Instagram, sharing pictures from the outing. In the first slide, Olympia, in all pink, beams beside Biles in a gold leotard.

Don’t let the forced perspective fool you: the seven-year-old is not as tall as a grown woman…Biles is just very, very petite. In the second slide, she and gymnast Jordan Chiles flash peace signs. That Girl vibes. Biles posted a group photo to her Instagram Story, as captured by Ohanian, clearly excited to see Serena Williams while on tour.

Williams and Ohanian’s younger daughter, Adira, is still too little for such an outing, but soon she and Olympia might be the next…well…Venus and Serena. As sister-friends if not sister-athletes. “I mean, I grew up with girls. I’d honestly never been around boys unless I was dating one,” Woman of the Year Williams told Glamour of having two daughters. “And sisters are so special.”

We love seeing women athletes supporting one another. In August, Biles and fellow Olympian Gabby Thomas attended their first WNBA game and met up with Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark, one of the most exciting female basketball players currently in the game.
