Several roads, I-75 shut down in Macon because of unsafe conditions, emergency personnel say

Some of Interstate 75 and several roads were closed in Macon-Bibb County because of fallen trees and power lines, according to the county Emergency Management Agency’s Facebook Friday morning.

Two lanes of Interstate 75 South at mile marker 160 were shut down, the agency announced.

Trees are down and caused blockages on these roads:

  • North Wesleyan Drive

  • Lamar Road

  • Rivoli Drive

  • Hydrolia Street

  • Walden and South Walden roads

  • Riverside Drive near Herring Drive and Corbin Avenue

Roads are also closed because of fallen power lines or trees down on these streets:

  • Azalea Drive and Barrington Place

  • Riverside Drive near Herring Drive and Corbin Avenue

  • Cornestoga Trail near Santa Fe Trail

Lower Thomaston Road near Johnson Road was also reportedly blocked for unsafe conditions.
