Severe thunderstorm watch, wind advisory in effect in Centre County. What to know
Though April started off with spring-like temperatures in Centre County, fast moving, strong thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for most of Centre County through 4 p.m. Saturday. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect through 8 p.m.
A wind advisory for the area is also in effect through 2 a.m. Sunday. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result, the NWS alert states.

West Penn Power customers can report outages online or text REG to 544487. Downed power lines should be reported to 1-888-544-4877.

Check circuit and fuses to make sure power is out before reporting
Check with neighbors to see if others in your area are affected
Keep refrigerators and freezers closed
