Shawn Mendes Is Giving ‘00s Heartthrob Vibes in a Baby Tee and Boxers
Thanks to the huge success of Nobody Wants This—FYI, if you haven’t yet binge-watched every episode, what are you doing with your life? Season two is coming, babe!—there is no denying the fact that we are officially in the midst of a 2000s hunk renaissance, fittingly led by Adam Brody. Yep, we fancied him as Seth Cohen in The O.C. then, and we’re still holding a candle for the actor now.
All this to say, Shawn Mendes, too, is giving major ‘00s heartthrob vibes in his latest cover shoot for Interview magazine. Following Jennifer Lopez’s issue, which saw her pose topless in animal print undies and thigh-high boots, the naked theme seemingly continued with Sean repping not one, but two crop tops in the snaps.
Maybe we’ve just got Brody on the brain, but the comments section seems to agree that the resemblance is uncanny.
One shot sees the musician reclining on a black-and-cream patterned sofa wearing a holey pale yellow Cherry Vintage baby tee that reveals a slither of his toned torso.
His second crop top ‘fit is a navy blue, round-neck style from Artifact Vintage emblazoned with the words “I feel love” printed across the chest in cursive script. Flashing even more of his stomach, Shawn wears Varsity Los Angeles sand-colored trousers and an A.P.C. black leather belt to dress up the ensemble, accessorizing with a chunky silver watch on his wrist.
The cover shot, meanwhile, showcases Shawn without a shirt entirely, posing topless in a pair of unbuttoned dark wash denim jeans with the waistband folded over. An old-school video camera perched on his shoulder emphasizes the throwback ‘00s aesthetic.
Yep, it’s not just us. Adam Brody, is that you?
