Prediction: Sheffield Utd 1-2 Man City

Whenever City have dropped points in the Premier League this season the have gone on to win their next match, and I expect that continue on Tuesday night.

Man City team news

John Stones is an injury doubt, which could see Aymeric Laporte brought back ahead of time.

Stones was complaining about a sore leg after Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace.

The England international has only just returned from a month-long lay off with a hamstring injury and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane on Tuesday.

Laporte, who is nearing a comeback from knee ligament damage, had targeted Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round against Fulham for his first action after five months on the side-lines

But Guardiola is considering including him against Chris Wilder’s high-flying side. Benjamin Mendy is also a fitness doubt.

Raheem Sterling could also be handed a timely rest following a busy festive schedule and with the return of the Champions League on the horizon.

Man City predicted line-up:(4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Angelino; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Bernardo, Aguero, Mahrez
