Shooting on Kansas City area highway leaves one person with critical injuries
One person suffered critical injuries in a shooting on a highway Tuesday night in Independence, a police spokeswoman said.
The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. along westbound Interstate 70 near the Little Blue Parkway, said Officer Kelley Rupert, a spokeswoman for the Independence Police Department.
Responding officers found one person who had been shot. The person was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The person firing the shots drove away from the area and headed west. No suspect information or vehicle description was released.
