Northeast Edmonton shooting victim dies, suspects charged with first-degree murder

A man shot on the weekend in northeast Edmonton died Wednesday of his injuries, police said Thursday.

Daniel Holly, 34, is the city's 28th homicide of the year.

Dagmawi Admasu, 27, and Tysean Wawryk, 21, are each facing first-degree murder charges, as well as attempted murder and weapons charges.

Police still want to speak with witnesses from three separate scenes to determine if other suspects were involved.

Police were called to the area of 432 Brintnell Blvd. at around 9 p.m. Saturday after a man and woman were shot.

Two suspects fled in an older minivan, later shooting at officers when police tried pulling them over near 130th Avenue and 70th Street.

At 130th Avenue and 86th Street, the men fled the minivan on foot. Police tracked them to a nearby field where they were arrested.

The woman's injuries were considered non life-threatening. No officers were hurt.
