Three men arrested after weekend shooting in Saskatoon

Police investigate armed robbery at Saskatoon bank

Saskatoon police have arrested three men after a parking lot shooting on Saturday night.

The three appeared in court today facing assault and gun related charges, and are in custody until Tuesday when they are expected back before a judge for a bail hearing.

Police say they received a call about gun shots shortly before midnight. The caller said shots had been fired from one vehicle to another in a parking lot in the 3500 block of 8th Street.

Police confirmed the bullets, fired from a .45-calibre handgun, missed their mark. The man inside the target vehicle was not hit by any rounds and was not hurt.

Witnesses told police they heard the gunshots and saw a pick-up truck speed onto Tait Crescent before two men jumped out and started running east through an apartment complex.

Police dogs successfully tracked two people who were immediately detained for questioning.

The investigation led to the arrest of three men and the charges they are now facing.

This is the 10th shooting in the city so far this year.
