RCMP remain at Cumberland House Cree Nation following gunshots
RCMP say there is no further risk to the public in Cumberland House Cree Nation following reports of a shooting on the reserve in northern Saskatchewan.
RCMP sent an alert at around 3:22 p.m. CST saying shots were fired from a home on Pemmican Portage Road.
Police had asked people in the area to stay inside and lock all doors and windows and to avoid disclosing the locations of police online.
Now, they are reporting the incident has concluded but the Saskatchewan RCMP critical incident response team is remaining on scene.
Police are expected to release more details about the incident on Friday.
Earlier, RCMP said there was a dangerous person with a long gun on the reserve, last seen on foot wearing a black ball cap and a black jacket.
They had also warned drivers not to pick up any hitchhikers and to use 911 to report emergencies or tips.
