SIGA nets $84 M in profits in last fiscal year
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority released its latest financial statements Tuesday.
The non-profit made $256.5 million in revenues and a profit of $84.1 million, which is administered to its beneficiaries through the government of Saskatchewan.
More than $42 million goes to a First Nations trust, which is distributed to Saskatchewan First Nations communities. An additional $21 million is shared with regional community development corporations that are tasked with local initiatives.
Finally, about $21 million goes to the provincial government's general revenue fund.
According to SIGA, this is their fourth straight year of net earnings above $80 million, and these recently released profits are up 4.85 per cent from the previous fiscal year. Since its inception almost 20 years ago, SIGA has generated more than $650 million for its beneficiaries.
