'Significant decline' of French language in Canada 'not a surprise': Trudeau

Speaking in Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Que., on Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reacted to 2021 census results that stated there's a "significant decline" in French as a predominant language, adding that it's "not a surprise." He says his government always tries to protect official languages that are in the minority, whether it be French outside of Quebec or English in Quebec.
