Simu Liu Rates All the Food Options at the Oscars and Afterparties on a Scale of 1-10
The 'Barbie' star also revealed the snacks that host Jimmy Kimmel hid under the seats
Simu Liu is giving his honest take on the food at the Oscars and afterparties.
The Barbie star, who performed “I’m Just Ken” alongside Ryan Gosling at the 2024 Academy Awards, shared a Threads post ranking the tastiest food at the star-studded event.
Liu, 34, started off by ranking what he ate at the actual Oscars, sharing that host Jimmy Kimmel provided the stars with some snacks.
“oscars (3/10): jimmy stashed some soft pretzel and sour patch kids under our seats. it wasn’t glamorous but did its job,” he wrote.
Next up, he revealed that the Governors Ball, the official Oscars afterparty, had to be his favorite. “gov ball (11/10): this was insane. wood-fired pizzas, paella, wagyu, sliders, PEKING DUCK?!? i did nothing but inhale food the whole time,” he said of the elite event.

The iconic Vanity Fair party is known for providing A-listers with a West Coast fast food favorite — and according to Liu, it didn’t disappoint.
“vanity fair (7/10): ah the infamous party with in-n-out burgers on tap. can’t go wrong,” he wrote.
To round out his Threads post, the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star revealed what was served at Madonna’s party — and if he had any room left to eat.
“madonna (9/10): full spread of curry, rice, naan and samosas. i was simply too full lol,” he quipped.
In November, the actor was recognized in PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive issue and opened up about staying himself amid his Hollywood fame.
Born in Harbin, China, and raised largely in Ontario, he shared how he holds on to his roots.

"Canada is sexy because it's inclusive. It really champions diversity, celebrates people's differences — and has universal health care," he said. "All those things are really sexy!"
He also opened up about his love of traveling. He’s a big fan of exploring delicious food wherever he goes – not just at the Oscars!
Late last year, Liu went to Bangkok with his best friend of 22 years.
"We've been trying to plan this trip in Thailand for, I would say, at least a decade," he said. "Of course back then it looked very different. We were going to hitchhike everywhere and stay in hostels and eat dollar street food off the side of the road — which, by the way, we still did. It was amazing."
