Vancouver police have confirmed one man in his 30s has died in a single-vehicle crash in the city's Point Grey neighbourhood.

Officers responded to several 911 calls of a man driving erratically westbound on West 4th Avenue at around 9 p.m. PT Sunday.

His black Acura MDX SUV lost control at NW Marine Drive, hitting the curb, a traffic pole and then a large tree.

The man died at the scene after attempts to revive him.

"Speed was definitely a factor in this tragic incident," said VPD Const. Tania Visintin.

It is Vancouver's 14th car crash death in 2021.
