Sister Wives' Janelle, Meri Call Out Kody for Being 'Hyper-Focused' on Younger Kids, Failing to Bond with Adult Kids
Janelle and Meri both voiced concerns that Kody wasn't spending enough time with his older kids
Janelle Brown and Meri Brown are calling out Kody Brown for not spending enough time with his older kids.
Sunday's episode of Sister Wives picks up in the aftermath of Janelle, 54, and Kody's big fight, showing the first time the two have seen each other since their heated exchange. Saying that she "doesn't know how we come back from this," Janelle tells Kody that she's "not really inclined to stay in this relationship."
While discussing their relationships with their kids, Janelle says to Kody, 54, "We all have children at different stages and you couldn't accommodate."
"But I fill the obligation a little deeper for the littlest ones because of their needs," Kody responds.
"I feel like that's all you saw, were the little children," Janelle says, "and you stopped seeing your other children. You became so hyper-focused on the needs of the little kids [that] you stopped seeing the other kids' needs."

In a confessional, Meri, 52, echoes Janelle's concerns, saying "Kody has always made it a point to be part of his kids' lives, especially when they're younger. I think it's easy for him to forget that he should still nurture relationships with his adult children as well."
On last week's episode, Christine Brown talked with Janelle about her continued estrangement from Kody.
After learning Kody hadn't reached out to Savanah, 18, since her birthday, a month prior to the scene's filming, Christine, 51, asked in a confessional, "He lives half an hour away. He comes into town. It's just this pattern he has. Why is he still living here? Why stay in this?"
"I'm so mad and so furious at this whole situation. I don't think he understands how easy it would be to fix this. All he has to do is, God, just see his kids," she shared.
In his own confessional, Kody said, "Christine and Janelle have kind of banded together with this whole thing and basically shattered my world. I've been in a place where I've been separated from my children because I've been kicked out of my home, the space that I had with those children."
"I haven't had the emotional fortitude to reach out, not even knowing what to do or say," he continued. "And the phone goes both ways, the kids can always call me. I'll reach out to Savanah and bring her Christmas. It'll be late but it'll happen."
Christine announced her separation from Kody in November 2021. One year later, Janelle and Meri also ended their longtime relationships with him. Kody is now no longer practicing polygamy as he adjusts to a monogamous relationship with his fourth wife Robyn, 44.
Sister Wives airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
