Six Newborn Puppies Found Dumped In A Box And Left To Die

A group of six newborn puppies were found freezing and frightened in a box in the middle of a park where they had dumped and left to die.

The week-old pups were found by a walker in Robroyston Park, Glasgow, who contacted animal rescue officers.

Shivering and vulnerable, they were taken to an SSPCA rescue centre in Lanarkshire to be nursed back to health.

Sadly, one of the pups later died.

Animal Rescue Officer Amy Robb said leaving the animals alone in the freezing cold was a “cruel act”.

She said: “The puppies are around a week old and don’t yet have their eyes open.

“They were found around 10pm on a cold night and they were shivering.

“These puppies are far too young to be away from their mum and we are concerned for her welfare as she will be extremely distressed at having her puppies taken away from her so soon.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the SSPCA helpline on 03000 999 999.
