Sketch of Airdrie shooting suspect released

Airdrie RCMP say they're investigating a shooting on Saturday that injured a 22-year-old man.

Police say the injuries are not life-threatening.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Mounties were dispatched to a complaint of a male with a gunshot wound at a residence on Baysprings Link, in southwest Airdrie. 

With assistance from the Airdrie RCMP's general investigation services and the crime reduction unit, officers flooded the neighbourhood but discovered the suspect had fled the area. 

Police say the suspect is in his mid-20s, has dark black hair, a goatee and is approximately five feet nine inches.

The victim remains in hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
