After skipping Boise for years, beloved band to return for ‘dazzling’ major holiday show
Santa Claus only wishes his fan base was as big as Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s.
After a multiple-year drought, TSO — the laser-and-pyro-powered Yuletide extravaganza — will return to Idaho for a holiday rock concert at ExtraMile Arena at Boise State. The show, which will be Thursday, Nov. 21, is TSO’s first visit to the City of Trees since it played the same arena in 2019.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster for $59.99 to $99.99. A limited number also will be sold for $49.99 during the first week, or while supplies last.
This year’s tour is a “triple celebration” for the musicians, according to a press release: “20 years of their beloved rock opera ‘The Lost Christmas Eve,’ reaching their 20 millionth concertgoer and surpassing a phenomenal $20 million donated to charity.”
For a couple of epic, face-melting hours, fans will enjoy a skull-crushing, audio-visual cocktail of rocked-up holiday favorites, TSO originals and familiar classical melodies — delivered by smiling, formal-wear-sporting, long-haired dudes posing like they’re busting out a Winger guitar solo.
People will love it.
“This year’s tour marks the grand return of ‘The Lost Christmas Eve’ to the stage for the first time since 2013,” according to the release. “Expect an all-new, dazzling spectacle packed with pyrotechnics, lasers, and the incredible storytelling synonymous with TSO. The celebration continues with a high-energy second set featuring the group’s greatest hits and fan favorites.”
