SLO fire crews, CHP helicopter combine to rescue an injured hiker from Poly Canyon
A hiker was rescued Friday after being hurt along the Poly Canyon Trail, according to a Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol.
The hiker suffered leg injuries including to a knee and had to be airlifted to the hospital, according to the CHP., which assisted the San Luis Obispo Fire Department in the afternoon rescue.
“H-70 lowered an air rescue harness to ground personnel, who then packaged the hiker for transport,” the post stated. “H-70 hoisted the injured hiker and flew her directly to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.”
