Small Bay Area earthquake shakes San Jose Friday afternoon

A small earthquake was reported in Northern California on Friday afternoon.

A 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook San Jose about 3:15 p.m. local time. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake had an epicenter about 5 miles northeast of Alum Rock, California.

Alum Rock is located about six miles east of San Jose. The temblor was recorded at a depth of about five miles.

The earthquake was reportedly felt across the San Jose area according to the geological service. No damages or injuries have been reported so far.
