Smirnoff Ice drinks recalled for possible glass contamination

Diageo Canada is voluntarily recalling Smirnoff Ice brand alcoholic beverages from the marketplace due to possible glass contamination.

The following products, sold in glass bottles, were distributed nationally. The company said there is a possibility some of the bottles may contain small fragments of glass.

- Smirnoff Ice Peach Bellini: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 204 and L5 231.

- Smirnoff Ice Green Apple: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 205 and L5 232.

- Smirnoff Ice Raspberry: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 205 and L5 232.

- Smirnoff Ice Cranberry and Lime: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 205, L5 206, L5 232 and L5 233.

- Smirnoff Ice: 330 ml, 4x330 ml, 6 (4x330 ml), 12 x330 ml and 24 x 330 ml with bottle codes beginning with L5 210, L5 236 and L5 237.

- Smirnoff Ice Watermelon Mimosa: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with

- L5 206 and L5 233.

- Smirnoff Ice Orange Screwdriver: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 206, L5 207, L5 234, L5 235 and L5 236.

- Smirnoff Ice Light: 330 ml, 4x330 ml and 6 (4x330 ml) with bottle codes beginning with L5 207, L5 233 and L5 234.

- Smirnoff Ice The Life of the Party Pack: 12x330 ml with case codes beginning with L5 137, L5 139, L5 203 and L5 231.

Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is making sure the affected products are removed from the marketplace.

There have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of these products.
