SNL’s Colin Jost Set to Headline 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner
This oughta make his son C.J. Rossitano proud: Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost has been tapped to serve as the featured entertainer at the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
The WHCA’s annual shindig, which is broadcast by C-SPAN, is set for Saturday, April 27 — so, assume SNL will be in rerun mode that evening.

“Colin Jost knows how to make Saturday nights funny, and I am thrilled Colin will be live from the nation’s capital as the headline entertainer for this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” WHCA president (and NBC News senior White House correspondent) Kelly O’Donnell said in a statement Friday. “His sharp insights perfectly meet this remarkable time of divided politics, and a presidential campaign careening toward a rematch.
“His smart brand of comedy and keen observation will turn up the heat on the national news media and across the political spectrum. A night of laughs and reflections as our dinner honors freedom of the press as a cornerstone of American democracy,” she continued. “I am beyond excited to welcome one of NBC’s brightest stars to one of Washington’s greatest traditions.”
Recent “nerd prom” entertainers have included Roy Wood, Jr., Trevor Noah, historian Ron Chernow, Michelle Wolf, Hasan Minhaj, Larry Wilmore and Jost’s onetime Weekend Update co-anchor Cecily Strong.
Previous SNL alumni tapped to entertain the WHCA also include Seth Meyers (2011), Darrell Hammond (2001) and Chevy Chase (1976). (Kenan Thompson was set to host in 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic put the kibosh on that year’s proceedings.)
