After an announcement that Saturday Night Live mainstay Bobby Moynihan is leaving the show, Vanessa Bayer has followed suit. As reported first by Deadline, Bayer has made Season 42 of SNL her last, after seven seasons on the show.
Some of Bayer’s most notable moments on the show include her impressions of celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Rachel from Friends, as well as original characters, such as Jacob the bar mitzvah boy and child actor Laura Parsons, who often reported on news that was way too adult for her. Bayer’s portrayal of Brecky, one half of the Swarovski crystal girls — former porn stars who’d become home shopping network jewelry hockers — was also a fan favorite.
The 42nd season finale of SNL was Bayer’s final episode. She was the third-longest-tenured cast member, after Moynihan and Kenan Thompson. She has recently made appearances in Portlandia, Modern Family, Crashing, Drunk History, The Simpsons, and Trainwreck.
We’re sure that Bayer will do more hilarious and amazing things in the future, and we wish her luck after Saturday Night Live.
