Snow falls in Calgary after high winds sweep through city

High winds swept through the Calgary Friday night, bringing in snow to the city Saturday morning.

The forecast calls for snow with a mix of rain today, and the temperature steady around 2 C. The cold weather is expected to stick around this evening.

"Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. Wind north 30 km/h gusting to 50, becoming light this evening. Low zero," said Environment Canada on its website about tonight's forecast.

But the snow shouldn't stick around. Sunday is expected to be overcast with a high of 6 C.

Calgarians seem to be taking it stride.

But not everyone in the city is happy.

There are also those who are getting prepared for the coming ski season.

Calgary police say they haven't had to respond to many accidents with the snowy conditions on roads, but here is a reminder of how to prepare for winter driving.
