Snow in Sacramento?
It may be unusual to see snowflakes in the capital city but snowfall is possible — and we have the pictures to prove it.
The most recent measurable snow in Sacramento was recorded on Feb. 5, 1976, National Weather Service meteorologist Courtney Carpenter told The Sacramento Bee in February.
That year, 2 inches of snow were recorded at Sacramento Executive Airport, according to archival photos from The Bee.
That’s not the only the time city has been transformed into a winter wonderland.
In 1942, a storm dropped 2 inches of snow on Sacramento, according to archival photos from The Bee.
