Soft Breadsticks Recipe

Great Soft Breadsticks to dip in Marinara Sauce or as a side for your Dinner. Ingredients: Dough:, 2-1/4 cup Flour, 1/4 cup + 1-1/2 tsp Sugar, 1 pkg Dry Yeast, 1 cup warm Water, 1/2 tsp Salt, 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil (plus for oiling the bowl & baking sheet), 1 Egg, Topping: 4 tbsp Butter, melted, 1 tsp Italian Seasoning, 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese, finely grated Combine 1/2 cup warm water with the yeast and 1-1/2 tsp sugar, whisk and let it proof. Add Flour, Sugar, Salt, Oil, Egg and 1/2 cup Water. Use Dough Hooks and mix until Dough comes together. Add enough Flour and keep kneading until the Dough is smooth and does not stick. Coat the Dough and a bowl with Oil & cover with a towel for 1 hour. Punch Dough down and place on floured surface. Divide into 16 equal portions. Shape each in Bread Sticks between 5-6" long and place 8 at a time on lightly Oil coated Baking Sheet. Cover with a towel for 20 Minutes. Preheat Oven 400° F Bake 10 - 12 Minutes until golden. Melt the Butter for the Topping and add the Italian Seasoning, whisk well. Brush Bread Sticks with Butter and sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese. Enjoy!
