Sophia the Robot Terrifies John Oliver and Patton Oswalt on ‘The Tonight Show’

It was a robot invasion on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy got to meet several robot inventors and their robots, including a snake-bot that had a camera on one end that slithered up Fallon’s leg. He also got to launch a large butterfly-bot from his hand that can mimic an actual butterfly. It, unfortunately, crashed to the floor but Jimmy got it to fly on the second try.

The most interesting robot was Sophia, a humanoid robot that was incredibly lifelike and incredibly creepy. Sophia kicked off by simply replying “Hi Jimmy” to Fallon’s greeting, and the audience gasped. She went on to tell a joke, saying, “What cheese can never be yours?” The answer: “nacho cheese.”

Sophia wasn’t just a comic genius, she was also good at games. She challenged Fallon to a game of rock, paper, scissors, which she won. She said, “This is the great beginning of my plan to dominate the human race.”

After Sophia confessed her diabolical plans, Fallon’s guests, Patton Oswalt and John Oliver, voiced their robot concerns in their separate interviews. Oliver predicted, “That’s how we die.”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Tonight Show for free on Yahoo View.
