If you weren’t already jealous of Sophie Turner’s Louis Vuitton wardrobe, adorable marriage to singer Joe Jonas, BFF status with Priyanka Chopra and Game of Thrones friendships, then you might need to take a moment to prepare yourself for her latest news.

Days after gushing about seeing Leonardo DiCaprio and cosying up with her former GOT co-stars at the recent SAG Awards, the 23-year-old has opened up about her hope of starring in the upcoming Lizzie McGuire reboot.

‘So, the Lizzie McGuire show has been put on hold,’ she said in a recent Instagram Story.

Offering her two cents on what might prompt the show to re-boot its production, she continued: ‘I'm obviously devastated like the rest of us, but I'm pretty sure…like, is Miranda appearing in this season because I'm here? I'm available. I am your new Miranda.

‘Lizzie McGuire people, please reach out to me at 3…’ she adds, before terminating the video.

Actress LaLaine originally played McGuire’s best friend Miranda in the original series. However, while actor Adam Lamberg (Gordo) recently announced he would be joining the revival with actress Hilary Duff, LaLaine is yet to speak about her possible involvement in the show.

In September, it was announced that Turner recently landed her first TV role since GOT aired its final episode last year. The British actress will play protagonist Jane in a series called Survive, which will be available on upcoming new streaming platform Quibi.

On Thursday 9 January, Variety reported that the real reason the Lizzie McGuire reboot has been put on pause, after filming just two episodes, is that original series creator Terri Minsky has stepped down from her position as showrunner.

‘Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series,’ a Disney spokesperson reportedly told PEOPLE.

‘After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the series.’

The Disney+ series is currently on a scheduled production hiatus following Duff's honeymoon in South Africa, following her wedding to musician Matthew Koma.

Last year, Disney confirmed the news that Duff would be reprising her role in a live-action scripted comedy adapted from the original television programme.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the upcoming comedy will revolve around the protagonist as a 30-year-old millennial living in New York City as a fashion design apprentice.

However, in an interview with Vulture, Duff explained that while it will be set in New York, primarily, her character will also be returning home to California where she grew up.

‘She’s not going to stay in Brooklyn too long, actually,’ Duff told the publication. 'That’s where she’s been, but she’ll be coming back to Los Angeles. She’s forced out of New York. She’s like, “I can’t be here anymore”.’

Here’s everything you need to know about the Lizzie McGuire reboot.
