Sophie Turner and Kit Harington Just Absolutely Slammed That ‘GoT’ Remake Petition

From Cosmopolitan

  • Fans pretty much hated the Game of Thrones series finale, and Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, who played Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on the show, have thoughts about that.

  • FYI, 1.3 million people have signed a Change.org petition calling for a total remake of the eighth season.

As you’ve probably gathered if you’ve gone on the internet in the past 48 hours, people are really not happy about the way Game of Thrones ended. And there’s a petition to prove it, calling for a total remake of the final season with “competent” writers.

Sophie Turner has a lot to say about that. Frankly, she’s annoyed.

“All of these petitions and things like that-I think it’s disrespectful to the crew and the writers and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years and for 11 months shooting the last season. Like 50something night shoots,” she told the New York Times. “So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it’s not what they want to see is just disrespectful.”

And she’s totally justified in saying that. Sophie started working on this show when she was, like, 13 years old, so you can imagine how hard it must be to have people tear it down. And! She said she’s not surprised people are pissed, because that’s what happens when they don’t get what they want.

“People always have an idea in their heads of how they want a show to finish, so when it doesn’t go to their liking, they start to speak up about it and rebel,” she said.

“The thing about Game of Thrones that’s always been amazing is the fact that there’s always been crazy twists and turns, right from season 1 with Ned’s beheading. So Daenerys becoming something of the Mad Queen-it shouldn’t be such a negative thing for fans. It’s a shock for sure, but I think it’s just because it hasn’t gone their way.”

FYI, before the petition even started, Kit Harington gave an interview to Esquire where he basically said he didn’t care about critics.

“Whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their judgment on it, in my head they can go f*ck themselves,” he told Esquire. “Because I know how much work was put into this.”

Alright! Guess that settles that! Kit and Sophie ignoring all the haters like:
