Holly Hayes, the CAO/clerk and treasurer with South Algonquin Township has resigned effective March 15. She will continue on in the position until mid-May 2021.

Mayor Jane Dumas and the township council regretfully acknowledged Hayes’ resignation with a media release issued on March 15.

“During her tenure as the CAO/clerk and treasurer, Holly has exemplified her commitment to the growth and enhancement of our community through her dedication and vision of excellence in every aspect of her job,” said the media release. “Holly has supported township staff in their work and encouraged them in expanding their skills and knowledge of working in the municipal environment. She has been diligent in ensuring the safety and well-being of each staff member during the ongoing COVID-19 situation.”

The release went on to say that as CAO/clerk and treasurer, Hayes had worked closely with local members of provincial and federal governments and many government organizations including neighbouring townships. Dumas said that as Mayor, she had witnessed Hayes’ professionalism and had gotten feedback on the respect that people had for Hayes and her commitment to South Algonquin.

“Mayor Dumas and council wish Holly all the best in her future plans and thank her for her excellent work for the township,” the media release said in conclusion. “Council will be proceeding immediately to begin the recruitment process to fill the vacancy.”
