Authorities arrest man accused of kidnapping 16-year-old, South Mississippi sheriff says
South Mississippi authorities on Friday arrested a man accused of kidnapping a teenager, the George County Sheriff’s Office said.
Logan Barber, 34, was wanted in connection to the kidnapping case, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office asked residents to lookout for Barber Friday afternoon and announced just over an hour later that he was in custody.
Authorities accused Barber of kidnapping a 16-year-old who was “believed to be held against his will.” The teenager was located safely on Friday, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities did not say where Barber and the teenager were found. But before the arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said Barber and the teenager were last seen in George County, in the Rocky Creek community near Lucedale.
The Sheriff’s Office said Barber was considered dangerous and believed to frequent Escambia County in Florida. Authorities described him as 5 foot 7 inches tall and 172 pounds with tattoos on his face and neck. He drives a Black 2014 Cadillac Escalade with an Illinois license plate that reads “DJSETH”, the Sheriff’s Office said.
