Special Meeting Minutes for RM of Hoodoo

A Special meeting of the council of the RM of Hoodoo No. 401 was held on March 12, 2021. In attendance at the meeting were the following: Reeve Kolla; Councillors Hal Diederichs (entered at 8:30 am), Eugene Jungwirth, Reg Wedewer, Donavin Reding, Bruce Cron, and Don Gabel; and Administrator Joan Corneil. A quorum being present, Reeve Kolla called the Special meeting to order at 8:10 am.

Cllr. Cron moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Crd. Council decided to carry on with other business while waiting to see if any individuals arrived to take part in the public hearing.

Further business of the Special meeting involved Reports of the Building Committee. First regarding the office building, Cllr. Reding moved that Council authorizes administration to proceed with the addition and renovations to the RM office. Crd. Secondly, regarding the waste water buildings, Cllr. Wedewer moved that Council receive and file the recommendation from the Building Committee regarding the waste water buildings. Crd.

Cllr. Jungwirth moved that Council authorizes the Reeve to sign the Pinter proposal for the Smuts Grid. Crd.

In response to a request to rent the RM’s silt fence, Cllr. Diederichs moved that Council authorizes administration to contact the administrator of the Resort Village of Wakaw Lake and advise them we will rent them our silt fence for $200/day, only available in April & May 2021, with a clause indicating that the Resort Village is responsible for covering the cost of any replacements due to any damages that may be incurred. Crd.

Cllr. Gabel moved that Council appoint Hal Diederichs to the Wapiti Regional Library Board for a term of one year. Crd.

Further to a letter received from Don & Shirley Borisko, Cllr. Cron moved that Council authorizes administration to contact the owners of Parcel D Plan #101876632 and determine a purchase price. Crd.

In response to communication received from Community Planning, Ministry of Government Relations regarding an application to subdivide SW ¼ Section 14-42-25 W2M, Cllr Reding moved that administration is directed to respond to Community Planning that the RM of Hoodoo has no issues with the subdivision proposed for SW ¼ Section 14-42-25 W2M. Crd.

Reeve Kolla moved that at 9:20 am the Public Hearing for the Bylaw 02 of 2021 be opened, A Bylaw to Amend Bylaw 14 of 2018 regarding the inclusion of utility lots to MH District. Crd. Reeve Kolla moved that the Public Hearing for Bylaw 02 of 2021 be closed at 9:23 am. Crd.

Cllr. Jungwirth moved that Bylaw 02 of 2021 – A Bylaw to Amend the Zoning Bylaw 14 of 2018 beceive the second reading. Crd. Cllr. Diederichs moved that Bylaw No. 2 of 2021 – A Bylaw to Amend the Zoning Bylaw 14 of 2018 be read a third time and passed, and that Bylaw No. 2 of 2021 be now adopted, sealed and signed by the Reeve and CAO. Crd.

Reeve Kolla moved that this meeting be adjourned at 9:24 am. Crd.
