Speeding in orange zone nets driver $488 fine
A driver has been ticketed $488 after being clocked going 93 kilometres per hour in a 60-km/h road construction zone.
It happened Thursday on Highway 39 between the communities of Milestone and Lang, the RCMP said in a news release.
The driver was pulled over while Milestone RCMP members were doing regular patrols on a section of highway which is an active construction zone.
Around the same time, the Mounties pulled over a woman in another vehicle who was going 81 km/h.
Her ticket was for $333.
In addition to the two tickets, the RCMP said they gave out five warnings, including "two to visitors to the province confused about their speeds."
