Splash pad down, but not out

·1 min read

A broken part stopped water from flowing at the Montague splash pad over the weekend. By Monday morning, the maintenance team had identified the problem and were off to buy a replacement part in Charlottetown.

“It should be back up and running by the end of the day (Monday),” said Shawn Fraser, Three Rivers’ Recreation and Events Coordinator.

However, the season of splash pad joy is winding to an end. With Labour day on the horizon, Mr Fraser wasn’t certain of the exact close date but he expected the splash pad supervisor would only be around to monitor the play zone for another week or so.

“It has been a busy summer at the splash pad,” he said. Noting families and groups of kids have flocked to the pad regularly on the summer’s hottest days.

Mr Fraser was not able to provide the splash pad operating cost this year.
