Quebec provincial police have recovered the body of Mathieu Dickner, 37, from Lac Saint-Louis after it was spotted by another fisherman near the marina in Melocheville shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.

The body of Dickner's friend and fishing partner, Olivier Thibert, was found Wednesday evening near the Pointe-des-Cascades dam, where the current is very strong.

Thibert and Dickner, work colleagues at Formax, a plastics manufacturer in Beauharnois, had gone fishing after work Monday evening. Dickner's girlfriend called the Coast Guard later that evening when the man failed to come home.

On Tuesday, the men's fishng boat was discovered with some of their personal belongings, including a wallet, still inside.

It's unclear how the pair ended up in the water.

Thibert frequently fished in the area.

Police say the men had been fishing in the vicinity of the rapids near the Pointe-des-Cascades dam, west of Île Perrot.

Divers had spent Wednesday searching for the missing pair Wednesday, and a helicopter aided in the search.
