St. Albert students over the moon after space camp campaign

Students at Ronald Harvey Elementary School in St. Albert celebrate their return to space camp Wednesday night after raising the money the second time.

After months of hard work, some St. Albert students have reached the final frontier of their fundraising and are finally headed to Space Camp.

"It's been amazing to watch," said Heather Kemp, co-chair, of Save Our Space Camp. "For our kids to be able to see ... if a group of people band together to make something, amazing things can happen."

Students at Ronald Harvey Elementary learned tonight that their hard work, donations and fundraising raised an astronomical $130,000 to go to Space Camp.

They've been working hard since their initial down payment disappeared with a travel company that went out of business.

Rather than give up, they earned the money all over again.

The future space cadets lift off on April 26th.
