Following arrest, officials identify man who barricaded himself inside Jackson County home
A suspect in a police standoff in Vancleave “surrendered peacefully” Thursday afternoon and has been arrested, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said.
James English, 42, faces a charge of aggravated domestic assault, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The standoff began between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Ridgeland Road in Vancleave.
Officials responded to a domestic incident at the home, and a English barricaded himself inside, according to Sheriff John Ledbetter.
As of 9 a.m., no shots had been fired. Officials said earlier they believe English was alone in the home.
