Stanley Bridge roundabout project to get a second look

Stanley Bridge roundabout plans revised

Transportation officials in Prince Edward Island are taking another look at the design of a planned roundabout in Stanley Bridge.

The move comes after concerns were brought up at a recent public meeting by some local business people and residents, according to chief engineer for the province Stephen Yeo.

"There were some concerns from the local business people as well as some others in the audience about the access to the service station and parking in the area as well," he said.

"So we have taken all the information and we are discussing it internally with staff and making a few changes to the design."

Tenders have already gone out for the $200,000 project, which is slated to begin this spring.

The roundabout would be located at the intersection of Rattenbury Road and St. Mary's Road.

Yeo says once they review the signing and design options, they'll meet again with business people in the area.

Another public meeting will follow after that.
