The Stars of 'The Crown' Give a Sneak Peek at Season 4... But With American Accents

From Town & Country

You won't hear Prince Charles or Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall speaking like Valley girls, but the same can't be said about their counterparts on The Crown. Emma Corrin, Josh O'Connor, and Emerald Fennell—who play Princess Diana, Prince Charles, and Camilla, respectively—gave T&C a sneak peek at the show's upcoming forth season, but there was one catch: they had to put on American accents.

The trio was up for the challenge, however, and the results were hilarious. Fennell jumped in first, speaking with thick vocal fry and peppering in "likes."

"It’s like a ménage à trois. And it’s like Camilla and Diana and Charles," Fennell says in the video above, which was filmed at the cover shoot for Town & Country's November 2020 issue.

Corrin replied, putting on the same exaggerated tone, "And it’s like major love triangle. And it’s like so much drama."

"Yeah, it’s a nightmare. But the houses are amazing," Fennell added.

During this hilarious exchange O'Connor could hardly contain himself. He, in his British accent, piped in, "Guys, it definitely could be set in L.A." The three actors erupted laughing and vehemently agreed.

Fennell and Corrin continued to riff on that theme, discussing brunch with juices and Botox providers all in dripping Valley girl voices. While they didn't reveal too much about the new season's plot, they certainly had a lot of fun.

Digging deeper, the group also answered questions about royal life and its challenges. Fennell and Corrin agreed that the "suffocating pressure and expectation" is certainly the worst part of being royal. And the best aspect of royalty? The jewelry, of course.

Watch Fennell, Corrin, and O'Connor answer even more questions, and participate in a rapid fire round, in the video above.
